"Taking It Retro"
The line between production design and cinematography can sometimes be a little grey. That was definitely the case on this series of spots for Mister Quik. Filming in this location was like discovering a time capsule from the 70's.
For "The Waterbed" we sought to recreate the era of hair metal bands and spandex, which was beautifully crafted by the hair and wardrobe team. Leaning slightly warm, and tuning a softer filmic look in Davinci Resolve, we worked with Director Josh Baker to present the funny juxtoposition of a modern family humorously stuck in the 80s.
For "The Phonebook" we took a similar approach, imagining what a 70s sit-com might look and feel like through a modern lens.
